The most preserved forests are under a highest protection regime. Among 126 registered species of longhorn beetles (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) on Fruška gora 27 species prefer beech wood for development. Four species/subspecies prefer beech. Two species are noted on national and European and World Red Lists of Threatened Animals and Plants. Seven species are rare in Serbia.
