Experiments were carried out in the Laboratory of Testing Seeds in the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops and in Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad (Serbia). Seed quality testing has been done according to Regulations on the quality of seeds of agricultural plants in Sluzbeni list SFRJ 47/97. Presence of microflora on the seed and the efficiency of fungicides are questioned by the usual laboratory methods. The results showed that are quality (energy and seed germination, atypical seedlings; sanitation, humidity and the weight of 1000 seeds) and economic health seed of most vegetable plants (pepper, sort Anita; tomato, sort Backa; watermelon, sort Crimson sweet; carrot, sort Nantes; onion, sort Alek) in accordance with the Regulations on the quality of seeds. Application of vigor tests (accelerated aging test, Hiltner test, cold test, test intensity increase) on the pepper seed showed that the germination was on the standard level of laboratory test, except the cold test which is on a statistically lower level. Cold test and accelerated aging test were on a statistically lower level, compared to other vigor tests, on the tomato seed. The watermelon seed had a lower level of seed germination only with accelerated aging test. The carrot seed result was almost identical to the tomato test result. The onion seed germination was the lowest applying accelerated aging and cold test. Results of the impact of some fungicides (Vitavax 200-WP, Raxil 060-FS, Mankogal S, Royal flo and Prestige 290-FS) on the quality and microflora of vegetable seed showed that there is not a big difference among them in terms of percentage of energy and seed germination and atypical seedlings.
