This study shows laboratory tests results of efficiency of chemically-thermally activated natural peat (ChTA peat), within purification of wastewaters of city. Chemically-thermally activated natural peat brought on a ground stone, used as a beam, has already been gained for the experiment. The testing has been conducted in a line of specific diameter and height with variations in contact time under constant flow. Contact period varied from minimally 12 to maximally 50 minutes. The efficiency of applied procedure was tested by measuring of COD untilled wastewater and wastewater after passing through the line. The very first passing of wastewater through adsorption line with activated peat has shown reduction of COD value leading to further increase of contact period. It has been established that processing by CTA-peat, under normal pressure, significantly reduces COD of tested wastewater, but at the same time, quickly comes to a stoppage, that is, to line blockage. Result show that filtration process needs to be done under increase pressure. Based on gained results we could state that CTA-peat represent efficient means of eliminating organic matters from wastewaters.
