The aim of this paper was to analyze associations between microsatellite marker GWM261 and four agronomically important traits in wheat: heading, flowering, stem height and spike length. Phenotypic and molecular evaluations of 177 lines of Savannah/Renesansa mapping population and 96 genotypes relevant for wheat breeding were conducted. Statistically significant associations between marker GWM261 and heading and flowering were obtained for both analyzed years in different genetic backgrounds. These results indicate potential significance of marker GWM261 for marked assisted selection.
