Onion weevil (Ceuthorrhynchus suturalis) occurs on plants in the genus Allium. Adult insects damage during supplementary feeding and larvae also damage internal epidermis and parenchyma of the leaves. Visual examination of plants was done at several locations in the region of Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in order to determine the presence and damage symptoms of onion weevil in 2006 and 2007. The abundance and distribution were monitored using sweep net and yellow hunting traps. The number of adult onion weevil varied by year, location and method of collection. The percentage of damaged plants by onion weevil larvae was higher in 2007 (62.2%) than in 2006 (45.6%). The highest damage level was determined in Vakuf 5a locality in 2007.
