Alternative fuels and their impact on the operating parameters of CI engine.

This contribution is aimed at testing of alternative fuels as an energy source suitable for compression-ignition (CI) engines. Tests were carried out with four fuels: metylester (new sample), RME and fuel mixture BIOMON 97. The results had been compared with standard diesel NM – 4. Laboratory measurements of previous mentioned fuels had been used to determine the external speed characteristics. Tests were performed on turbocharged four-cylinder and non charged six-cylinder diesel engines. Test results of those measurements are recorded in tabular and graphical form.
