Operation properties of tractor diesel engine with diesel fuel and new sample of biodiesel

In this paper comparison of operation properties of the tractor diesel engine type Z -8002 with diesel fuel and new sample of biodiesel are presented. The diesel engine mentioned above was tested by using of prony brake dynamometer type VD 110. During experimental test torque, speed, fuel consumption and smoke were measured. It was obtained that rated power of the tested engine with biodiesel is about 15 percent lower than with diesel fuel and specific fuel consumption with biodiesel is about 15 percent higher as compared with diesel fuel. On the other hand the maximum value of the smoke expressed by the coefficient k with the diesel fuel was 1,62 whereas with the biodiesel this value is 1,05. The values of smoke mentioned above were measurement under stationary load of the engine. Under dynamic load the maximum values of smoke were 3 times higher approximately.
