On the basis of experimental data, the influence of stocking density of juvenile chum salmon growing under the hatchery conditions, on their growth rate at various values of temperature and oxygen content was studied. It was shown that the biotechnical specification on admissible stocking density at growing of juvenile chum salmon equaled to 8,000 units per square meter, provided the growth rate more than 75 % from maximal. The algorithm of calculation of duration of juvenile growing up to the weight of 1000 mg, depending on temperature, is given. To increase the efficiency of artificial reproduction of chum salmon the oxygen concentrations in the following stream of fish breeding capacity should be not less than 6 mg/L. The results obtained allow to analyze an overall performance of salmon hatcheries and to define the ways of its optimization taking into account the features of water supply source. They arc useful at the construction designing of new chum salmon hatcheries for a tentative estimation of their efficiency and expediency of construction
