2006
Abdel-Rahman, M.A., kenana Sugarcane Research Department, Kenana (Sudan)
Proud, a new formulation of pendimethalin, was evaluated for weed control in sugarcane. Brachiaria eruciformis, Ipomoea spp., Rhyncosia memnonia and Thunbergia annua were the dominant weeds constituting more than 50 % of the weed flora. Proud in combination with Gesaprim displayed and maintained excellent control of grass weeds up to 12 weeks after spraying (WAS).The effects of the treatment on broad-leaved weeds was moderate at 4 WAS and very poor at 12 WAS. Proud plus Gesaprim gave cane yields comparable to that of the standard and the weed-free control treatments
