Evaluation of some insecticides for the control of thrips, thrips tabaci, on late transplanted onion

This experiment was conducted at Shambat Research Station Farm during season 2005/06, to evaluate the efficacy of Bestseller (alpha-cypermthrin) 10% EC and Nimbecidine (azadirachtin) 0.03% EC against onion thrips on late transplanted onion. These insecticides were compared with Fastac (alpha-cypermthrin) 10% EC as counterpart and untreated control. Bestseller at all tested rates effectively controlled thrips and significantly increased onion yield compared with the untreated check. Nimbecidine showed poor performance against thrips compared to Bestseller and Fastac
