2010
Buchta, S., Výskumný ústav ekonomiky poľnohospodárstva a potravinárstva, Bratislava (Slovak Republic)
The contribution deals with the development of unemployment and wages in the SR agriculture. Since 2009, agrarian employment has been continually decreased. At the end of 2009 only 65,3 thousand persons worked in agriculture. Relative employment per 100 hectares of agricultural land was decreased from 12,0 in 1990 to 3,3 workers in 2009. Socio-demographic structure of workers has been deteriorated in agriculture. Unemployment of persons from agriculture indicates cyclic rotation of these persons between unemployment and short-run employment. Price of labour in agriculture does not reach three quarters of the national economy wage level. In long term, the total nominal increase of average wages in agriculture is accelerated only due to an increase of wages of technical and administrative workers.
