Objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of Euglena sanguinea Ehrenberg as feed supplement on the liver mass of red Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus x O.mossambicus). Red tilapia, age 45 days the average weight of 2.22 +- 0.45 g were used in this study. The feed were supplemented with different levels of fresh E. sanguinea. The research was divided into 4 treatments with 3 replications: T1 was the control diet while T2-T4 were supplemented with fresh E. sanguinea 5, 10 and 15 percent, respectively. The experiment was carried out for 6 weeks. The growth performance and weight of liver mass of red Tilapia using Hepatosomatic Index (HSI) were measured every week. The results studied showed the mean HSI of 2.68 +- 0.08, 2.82 +- 0.10, 3.27 +- 0.47 and 3.43 +- 0.55 percent, respectively. The amount of supplemented, E. sanguinea had positive effect on the liver mass (HSI) of red Tilapia (p LT 0.05). The information obtained will be useful in providing basic information about management of E. sanguinea and the potential in applying for aquaculture in the future.
