Chitosan flakes as adsorbent for adsorption chromium (VI) of electroplating wastewater was studied. Batch experiments were carried out the dosage of adsorbent and pH, conditions. The pore volume, pore diameter and surface area of chitosan flakes were 4.71*10**(-4) cubic cm/g, 1.86 nm and 1.01 square m /g, respectively. The experimental results showed that adsorption capacity of electroplating wastewater of chitosan flakes at pH 2.7 was 115.0 mg Cr/g chitosan. The chromium (VI) adsorption of electroplating wastewater could be decribed by Freundlich adsorption model. The kinetic of adsorption could be elucidated by pseudo-second order. The mechanism of the adsorption occurred in 2 steps.
