The development and the occurring genetic effects and abnormalities in California rabbits obtained by narrow inbreeding /Fх = 0.5/ were followed out. As a result of inbreeding, mini rabbits and offspring with various skeletal malformations were produced. The bone malformations were documented by radiography. The observed negative effects resulted from increased homozygosis, which in turn created conditions for the appearance of recessive mutations and inbreeding depression.
