Damage Caused By Tomato Leaf Miner Tuta absoluta Meyrick in Tomato Varieties Grown in Greenhouse

Entomological observations and readings for determination of damages caused by Tuta absoluta Meyrick Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae in four tomato varieties grown in unheated greenhouse were performed in the Maritsa Vegetable Crops Research Institute, Plovdiv during the period 2010-2011. On the basis of the obtained results was established that varieties Buran and Velosity have been stronger attached by T. absoluta. The values of the recorded indexes damaged plants, average mine number per leaf, average mine number per fruit and percentage of damaged fruits are higher in these varieties. The lowest attack was observed in carry type tomato – variety IZK Alya.
