In the conditions of the north and eastern region of the Republic of Belarus there was realized a comparative evaluation of preparation and use of maize silage and grain haylage made from cereal and leguminous grass mixtures for fattening bull claves. Research results showed that the oat-pea mixture at the stage of milky ripeness contained more than maize dry matter on 21%, protein – on 35% and energy – on 17%; at the stage of milky-wax ripeness – respectively on 42%, 60% and 46%.Harvesting of cereal-leguminous mass at the stage of milky-wax ripeness in comprising with of milky ripeness made it possible to increase yield of dry matter on 17%, protein – on 18%, fodder units – 25%. Inclusion into diets of cereal-leguminous silage with 40-45% nutritive value instead of maize silage made it possible to increase daily average weight gain on 17,8%; and feeding with grain haylage from the same mixture increased the growth intensity on 20,2% (P less than 0,05) with lowering of concentrates in 2,3 times. That made it possible to economize 146 kg of concentrated fodders per each centner of live weight gain.
