Methods of the applied function theory were used to estimate the natural and anthropogenic factors influencing long-term variations of the groundwater level regime within the Byelove-zhian forest area. The analysis of long-term variations in the groundwater level was carried out at six hydrogeological stations, including 64 wells equipped for genetically different ground, intra-morainal and confined aquifers. The results of instrumental observations for the period from 1965 till 2009 were analyzed and major factors influencing the level regime were recognized as follow: natural (climate-dependent level regime) and anthropogenic (slightly disturbed and human-impacted level regime).
