In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus in course of the research there was studied the modal fraction of seeds – the average combination with the most widespread occurrence, obtained by fractioning according to linear forms or specific density and containing the whole biological potential of the variety. Seeds of perspective samples of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum) of Avangardnaya and Priozernaya varieties were used as material for research. The tests were realized in agricultural production co-operative 'Ostrometchevo' in Brest region with studying of seed quality of varieties of winter wheat, barley (Hordeum vulgare), oats (Avena sativa), lupine (Lupinus). Experiments with selection material and samples of Avangardnaya, Priozernaya were realized at an experimemtal field of the Belarusian Agricultural Academy. The soil of an experimental plot was sod-leached-podzolic, depth of arable horizon 0-26 cm, humus content 1.7%; mobile forms of phosphorus 180 and potassium 230 mg/kg of soil. Reaction of soil medium was рН - 5.8. The fertilizer background developed of autumn application of N15P30K60 and spring top dressing with N60. During vegetation the protection agents and retardants were not applied. A local climate is moderate-continental. The retention of structure of the variety is supported by the method of spare proteins electrophoresis, also applied with fractioning. Combination of the methods makes up the scientific side of seed-breeding. It was shown that in production conditions the barley variety Yakub has the highest indicators of the content of modal fraction – 89.4%, and winter wheat Meva has 82.2%, which determines high qualities of the variety according to uniformity and productivity.
