A study of implementation gap in the field of faba bean production among farmers in Elhamol district Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate

The main objective of this research was to study the implementation gap in the field of Faba bean production among farmers in Elhamol District -Kafr EI-Sheikh _ governorate, through achievement the following specific objectives: determining the implementation gap of respondents in the field of Faba bean production, also determining independent variables affecting respondents implementation gap, and identifying the main reasons of the implementation gap. A well prepared and pretested questionnaire was used to collect data for this research, through personal interviews a systematic sample consisted of 169 respondent in EI-Karn, EI-Bana, and Shark EI-Banawn villages, EI-Hamol districts, Kafr EI-Sheikh governorate. Frequencies, Percentages, arithmetic mean, Standard deviation, simple correlation coefficient and multiple correlation and regression analysis (step-wise) were used to analyze data statistically. The most important findings of this study are as follow: The implementation gap in the field of Faba bean production was ranged between high and moderate for 88.76% of the respondents. Al the independent variables of this study explained about 57.5% of the variation of the implementation gap in the field of Faba bean production. .The results indicated the importance of the awareness of technical recommendations in the field of Faba bean production (51 %), awareness of agricultural in novations (2.2%), frequent visits to urban Centers (1.7%), and education (1.7%) as the more effective variables in the implementation gap of Faba bean production.The main reasons of the implementation gap in the field of Faba bean production are: the lack of right knowledge about technical recommendations about Faba bean production its benefits and application, unavailability of enough recommendations related to Faba bean production, a lack of needed nodulation, and high prices of chemical fertilizers.
