Diseases of ear canal are frequently encountered in small animals. Although otitis externa is most common affection of ear canal, other surgical conditions like tumour have also been reported (Krahwinkel, 2002). The commonly reported ear canal tumours are ceruminous gland carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and carcinoma of undetermined origin (London, 1996; Roseychuk and Luttgen, 2000). For removal of such tumours lateral wall resection or total ear canal ablation is the surgical treatment (Withrow and Vail, 1996). The present report describes a case of ear canal tumour of unknown origin in dog and closure of left ear canal following removal of tumour using monopolar electrocautery under the guidance of telescope.
