Effects of soil physical and chemical properties, influenced by human and livestock activities on Beech forests regeneration at Khorgom of Giulan.

In order to study on effect of soil compact on forest regeneration, three sites at different distances from village were selected. These sites located in Si- Dasht forest in south of Guillan province. In each site six circular shpae plots with surface area 1000 m2, were established. All of trees with D.B.H more than 7.5 cm were measured. Three microplots, each 1 m2, were laid out in 4 aspects (north, east, south and west) in each plot. Number of seedling in each microplot was recorded. Also compactness of soil in each plot was assessed by penetrometer. The Results showed that: soil compaction number of seedling at diferent sites were statistically significant.
