Investigation on the effect of chemical tinning on the quality and quantity of fruits in peach and nectarine cultivars in Meshkinshahr region.

This research was carried out in order to evaluation the effects of chemical thinners urea NAA on quantitative and qualitative characteristics on peach ( cv. Suncrest amd dixired ) and nectarine ( cv. Independence and nectare 4 ) in Meshkinshar region. Expriments were carried out based on randomized complete block design with five treatments and three replications for three years. Application of urea ( 10, 12% ) and NAA ( 15, 20 ppm ) and control trees take place at full bloom stage. Characteristics such as flower abscission, fruit weight, fruit zise, acidity, TSS and yield were measured. Results showed that effect of different concentrations of urea and NAA on flower abscission, fruit weight, fruit size, acidity, TSS and yield in cultivars were significant. Results showed that different concentrations of urea and NAA causes increased flower abscission, fruit weight, fruit zise and decreased yield in all cultivars in comparision with control trees. mean comparision results showed that urea at 12% treatment had the most effect on flower abscission and such urea 12% had lowest yield in all cultivars. Urea at 12% treatment cause increased fruit weight and fruit size in all cultivars in comparision other treatment. Urea 12% had highest and NAA 15 and 20 ppm had lowest acidity in cv. dixired. NAA at 15 and 20 ppm had the most effects on TSS in comparision other treatments in cultivar suncrest peach. Urea at 12% treatment cause decreased content TSS and increased acidity content in cv. independens nectarine in comparision other treatments. Results showed that urea 12% treatment had highest and control trees had lowest flower abscission in nectarin cv. nectare4. NAA at 15 and 20 ppm and urea at 10% treatments had highest TSS in nectare 4. The highest amount of yield was obtained from control trees in all cultivars.
