The target of this investigation has been the utlization of rose stalk in composites materials products production. Threrfore in the first stage, two press temperatures of 175, 185 °c, three press time of 3, 4 and 5 minutes and two levels of mat moisture content gradient (0 and 2%) employed and 36 laboratory Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) produced. Then in second stage, three resin consumption content gradient of 0, 2 and 4% between surface and core layers of boards (10-10%, 11-9% and 12-8% resin consumption content in surface and core layers respectively), and three press time of 3, 4 and 5 minutes used and 27 laboratory particleboards produced. The mechanical and physical properties of boards measured and the results analyzed. The results idicated that the modulus of rupture (MOR) and Internal Bonding (IB) of MDF boards improved significantly, with increasing mat moisture content gradient and the highest MOR and IB related to boards that had mat moisture content gradient of 4%. Also the thickness swelling of boards (T.S) improved with increasing of press time and the minimum of T.S of boards observed at 5 minutes. . The results idicated that the maximum MOR and MOE of particleboards, observed in boards made with resin consumption content gradient of 2% (resin content of 11% in surface layer and 9% in core layer). Also, the results idicated that MOR and MOE of boards increased with decreasing of press time, significantly. The maximum Internal Bonding (IB) of boards related to boards that made with resin consumption content gradient of 2% and in this condition the lowest of thickness swelling of boards (T.S) observed Generally we can say that the results of this investigation showed that rose stalk can use for wood composite materials and standard particleboard specially. The utilization of other raw material such as poplars and agriculture residues in compound with rose stalk recomend in particleboard production.
