Genetic reservoirs including forest trees and shrubs have a basic role in provision of primary needs of people, animals, wildlife. Biological Scientists report that biodiversity of natural resources especially forests and rangelands decrease continiously and nowadays several species are considered as extinct species and some are on the edge of extintion. This research was designed to conserve intra and inter specific genetic variation of trees and shrubs in Iran. The following species were identified: Crataegus azarolus, Crataegus microphlla, Crataegus melanocarpa, Amygdalusm lycioides, Pistacia atlantica, Rhus cariaria , Cercis siliquastrum , Paliurus spina Christi , Zizphus vulgaris , Hippophae rhamnoides , Zygophllum atriplicodes , Jasminum fruticans , vulgaris Berberis , Prosopis farcta, Juniperus excelsa , Juniperus communis, Elaeagnus angustifolia, Rhamnus palasi, Rosa canina, Cotoneaster numularia , Sorbus graeca , Quercus macranthera . Different aspects of plants including morphological characteristics, climatic needs, topographical and utilization and propagation were meseared. Many morphological characteristics of the selected trees or shrubs were noted. At end of growth season 76 kinds of Seeds from 40 species trees and shrub for 26 vegetation site were collected. They were dried in proper condition and packaged in linen baskets. Finally seed samples were sent to the natural resource gene bank. Seed is potentially a complete plant so continuesity of these research projects will help identification, long-term conservation of trees and shrubs genetic resources and easily make them available to researchers or scientists to use for restabilitation, utilization and development of forests.
