In present investigation, the genetic structure of Fars native fowls was studied from egg quality and gene segreation points of view. In order to estimation of genetic parameters of egg quality traits, the quality of 2000 eggs collected from Fars Breeding Station were evaluated in Animal Science Research Institute (ASRI) Lab. Heritabilities and genetic and phenotypic correlations of traits were estimated by univariate and bivariate animal models using ASREML software. Heritability of eggshell strength, eggshell weight, eggshell thickness, albumen height, albumen weight, haugh unit, yolk weight and yolk diameter were 0.44, 0.23, 0.12, 0.17, 0.10, 0.17, 0.36 and 0.13 respectively. Genetic correlations of egg weight with albumen hight (0.67) Haugh unit (0.85) and albumen weight (0.86) were estimated high. Genetic correlations eggshell thickness with eggshell weight (0.87) and eggshell strength (0.83) were positive . Based on current results, selection for increased egg weight lead to produce more eggs with higher quality. Bayesian complex segregation analysis has been proposed as a method for age at sexual maturity (ASM), body weights at the week eight (BW8) average egg weight during 84 days of laying (EW) and number of eggs laid during egg production period (EN). By using Gibbsit software in an exploratory analysis with one chain with different parameters and for all traits in , thinning parameter, burin-in period and total cycles were ranged from 19-33, 99-228 and 79756-227897,respectively. The results indicated that there are segregating major genes for ASM traits of Fars population but for other traits there aren't segregating major genes.
