Honey bees have vital role in pollination of agricultural products. Honey bee breeding is one of the important factors for higher performance in beekeeping industry. Natural insemination is also the basic factors of honeybee breeding. There are not more researches on honeybee artificial insemination in Iran. Recently, most scientists have focused on quality and quantity of honey bee queen artificial insemination methods. The goal of this experiment was assess the two methods of queen rearing (artificial insemination vs. natural mating). The rates of brood and adult bee population, and honey production were evaluated during two years of two groups. Thirty selected colonies were randomly divided in two groups with artificial insemination and natural mating. The results showed that honey production was significantly higher in inseminated groups, and the brood area and adult population rates have not significant differences (p0.05). Therefore, we suggest using artificial insemination method was suggested for queen rearing in research projects and honeybee breeding stations. This method can improve honeybee colonies performance.
