One of the most important stages in rice breeding as a target is the study of yield and agronomical traits of new genotypes in case of the adaptability. In order to achieve this target new genotypes should be grown in different climates and locations. This research was conducted to determine the yield and some agronomical traits of 64 good quality genotypes and four check varieties ( Dorfok, Hashemi, Doroudzan and Ghasrodashti) using an augemented design with 4 replications, through 2008-2009 in Fars province of IRAN. Seed sowing and transplanting were done at may 20 and July 9, 2008 respectively. Transplanting of 5-leaf stage seedlings was done with 20 20cm spacing between rows and hills in 3 0.6 m. experimental plots. Statistical calculations were done by analysis of variance on yield of check varieties, using a randomized complete block design. LSD test was used to compare the grain yield of the 64 genotypes.ANOVA results indicated that the yield of the check varities were not significantly different. On the basis of LSD test for yield and also field observations,16 adaptable promissing genotypes were selected for advance studies.
