Increase water use efficiency and optimum use of water resources and also agronomy aims, are two main purposes of water stress applying. Cotton is one of the crops that management of cut-off irrigation time has a great effect on it. In order to investigate the effect of cut-off irrigation time on cotton, an examination was conducted using six different times of cut-off irrigation and also two varieties of cotton in 2006 and 2009 at HashemAbad research station of Gorgan. The experiment was a split plot based on randomized complete block design with three replications. In this study cut-off irrigation times as main plots included cut-off irrigation at blooming (I1), cut-off irrigation one week after blooming (I2), cut-off irrigation two weeks after blooming (I3), cut-off irrigation three weeks after blooming (I4), cut-off irrigation four week after blooming (I5) and cut-off irrigation five weeks after blooming (I6). Also two varieties of cotton as sub-plots included Sepid and 43259 varieties. The results showed that influence of cut-off irrigation times was significant on yield (P0.01) and the highest crop yield was obtained in I3 with 3527 (kg/ha). Also product earliness and boll weight were affected by cut-off irrigation times and it was found that boll weight increased but product earliness decreased by delay to cut-off irrigation times. The results revealed that the effect of varieties showed significant difference on yield, product earliness and percentage of fibers. So this variety has the necessary competence to advise farmers.
