The study was conducted to compare yield and adaptability of nine promising white bean genotypes and two controls, cultivar Daneshkadeh and line 11805, based on randomized complete block design with four replications in three locations, Khomein, Boroujerd and Zanjan, during 2005 and 2006. Different traits such as flowering times, flower color, plant height, maturity, protein, shattering resistance, diseases resistance and yield and its components were evaluated. Results of combined analysis of variance over locations and year showed that there were significant differences (p0.01) among genotypes for all recorded traits. Two-way interaction effect of genotype by location was also significant (p 0.01) for all traits. Based on mean comparisons, genotypes 8 (3360.2 kg ha-1) and 6 (3309.5 kg ha-1) had the highest grain yield which classified in group A, while the lowest grain yield were belonged to genotypes 11 (2715.3 kg ha-1) and 4 (2557.5 kg ha-1) which classified in group B. From protein content viewpoint, genotypes 1 and 8 showed the highest(20.78%) and lowest(20.78%) values respectively. It can be concluded that the genotypes 6 and 8 due to their high yield, suitable plant growing type and good marketing are recommendation to all study regions of country after registration.
