Crop and livestock industries have a significant position in the world national economies, yet fruit-growing industry products are no less important for ensuring the wellbeing of population, and popularising and providing healthy nutrition. To disclose the situation in Latvia, the fruit-growing industry was assessed by analysing changes in the planted area of fruit trees and berry bushes, average yields, and total output as well as indicators of imports and exports of fruit and berries. Time series analysis, inductive and deductive methods, analysis and synthesis as well as the graphical method were used in the present research. The area of fruit and berry plantations in Latvia has been volatile over a ten-year period, reaching the highest level in 2006 and decreasing afterwards. The average yields of berries and fruit differ; thus, apples showing the highest yields, while cherries – the lowest ones.
