The goal of this promotion paper was to obtain detailed information on the breeding whooper swan population in Latvia, particularly concerning its wintering, moulting grounds and dispersion geography. The following objective of the paper has been advanced: (1) to obtain scientific information on distribution of the currently breeding whooper swan population, (2) size of whooper swan population and its breeding habitats, (3) whooper swan wintering grounds and their locations, (4) whooper swan moulting grounds and their locations.
