Aislamiento y evaluacion de cepas de Rhizobium phaseoli en el Salvador.

Greenhouse trials with Rhizobium phaseoli showed no significant differences for nodule no. Nitrogen content of aerial parts was higher with strains I-10, followed by strain I-1 plus applied N. Regarding bean var. responses, Rojo de Seda and RAB-204 showed the highest nodule no. in which strain CIAT-632 was outstanding. No significant differences in nodule no. were found in field trials. Best responses in dry wt. of aerial parts corresponded to strains I-10 and CIAT-899. Highest yields were obtained with bean var. RAB-130 and RAB-404, whose symbiosis with strain mixtures (R-3, J-12, and P-22) was effective.
