Introduction des races de mammiferes domestiques dans la Gaule septentrionale a la suite de la conquete romaine.
1994
Yernaux G. | Udrescu M.
At the end of the Gallic period, the introduction of Roman domestic breeds was still very rare. But, after the Roman conquest, more "powerful" breeds became more generalized and frequent. In such sites as the Gallo-roman vicus of Braives and some other places in Belgium and Luxembourg, native and Roman breeds are recorded simultaneuosly. Osteological comparison suggests to what extent (estimated in percentage) Roman herds were introduced in ancient Gaul and how they influenced the local breeds.
