Effect of ethrel and silver nitrate on monoecious cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.).

In a two field trial laid out in split-plot design, two chemicals ethrel and silver nitrate at three concentrations each were applied on variety Khira Poona of cucumber at different stages of plant growth. The highest concentration of ethrel 150 ppm was found positively superior and the highest concentration of silver nitrate 220 ppm negatively superior in both years in respect of number of pistillate flowers, sex ratio, number of fruits and yield at the two leaf stage of plant growth.
