The investigation deals with fields of the "Vrsacki breg" farm unit being a part of the narrow region of the Vrsac mountain as the highest form of relief in Vojvodina (Yugoslavia). All soil types typical for the base of the sour silicate rocks: syrozem, ranker, acid brown soil, illimerized soil and pseudogley have been registered. Syrozem and ranker are not on the neogen sediments. Vertisol is formed in the conditions of locally present holocen sediments. The humus of the investigated soils contains more fulvic acid than humus ones, and the relation Ch:Cf is lower than 1. Biogeny of these soils is not satisfactory.
