Chemcial control of the shot-hole borer Scolytus amyagdali Guer., on almond trees [Egypt].

Field experiments were conducted at Bourg El-Arab, on the North Coast, west of Alexandria, Egypt, on 10 years old almond trees in order to evaluate the efficiency of two organophosphorus insecticides against the short-hole borer, Scolytus amygdali Guer. The insecticides tested were Cidial L 50% E.C. and Supracide 40% E.C. at 200 and 300 cc/100 It of water. Three sprayings at 2-week intervals, were applied per season during autumn 1977 starting in late October, and in spring of 1978 starting in late March. These trials were repeated at the same time during the autumn of 1978 and Spring of 1979.
