'Monceren' was tested in comparison with Benlate first. The radial growth of fungus was measured daily on PDA media containing different concentrations of these fungicides. Second certain amounts of these fungicides were added to Rhizoctonia inoculated soil via first irrigation. Monceren was not very effective on Rhizoctonia through the assay done on PDA, 1000 ppm. in comparison with 50 ppm Benlate completely inhibited the growth. It caused some malformations on growth habit, color of the colony and aggregation of barrel shaped cells instead of long vegetative hypha and loose type of sclerotinia normally produced by Rhizoctonia solani on PDA. results of the second experiment: Excellent control of the fungus achieved by this fungicide, no significant differences between Monceren and Benlate treatments at 0.75 grams (a.I). versus 1.5 grams and 2.5 grams versus 5 grams from Monceren and Benlate respectively. Monceren considered among fungicides used for Rhizoctonia.
