Ricerca ed evidenziazione di Rotavirus in alimenti.

Inglés. In 118 samples of foods (70 dairy products, 23 crushed meats, 25 ready to use salads) have been traced Rotavirus, Enterobacteriaceae, coliforms. For virological analysis the Rotazyme II immunological test has been utilized. Rotavirus have been found in one sample of cheese (1.9%), 3 of crushed meat (13.1%) 8 of "ready to use salads" (30%). Samples of whey-cheese and butter have always been found negative. According to these results the research of Rotavirus in foods is considered a useful test in addition to classical faecal indicators. It had been observed in fact that on 12 cases (10.1%) Rotavirus and Enterobacteriaceae were both positive and on 7 cases (6.6%) samples were positive for Rotavirus and Enterobacteriaceae but negative as concerns coliforms: in this situation the count of coliforms without Rotavirus test should have failed the evidentiation of faecal contamination.

ITALIANO: In 118 campioni di alimenti (70 prodotti lattiero-caseari), 23 carni macinate, 25 insalate della IV gamma sono stati ricercati Rotavirus, Enterobacteriaceae e coliformi fecali; per l'analisi virologica e' stato utilizzato il test immunoenzimatico Rotazyme II. I rotavirus sono stati ritrovati in 1 campione di formaggio (1,9%), 3 di carne macinata (13.1%), 8 di insalate della IV gamma (30%). I campioni di ricotta e burro sono risultati sempre negativi. Sulla base dei risultati conseguiti si ritiene che la ricerca dei Rotavirus negli alimenti, come test aggiuntivo ai classici indici di contaminazione fecale, possa riuscire utile. Si e' visto infatti che in 12 casi (10.1%) sono risultati contemporaneamente presenti Rotavirus ed Enterobacteriaceae e 7 casi (6.6%) sono risultati positivi per Rotavirus e negativi per coliformi fecali: l'introduzione del test dei Rotavirus in queste condizioni ha consentito di appurare l'esistenza di una contaminazione fecale che in modo diverso avrebbe rischiato di non essere evidenziata.
