The presence of the parasite Bothriocephalus gowkongensis was observed in the intestine of underyearling carps in July 1986.80 % of underyearlings were affected. The number of the parasites, which were found in every carpfry varied from 10-20. The carpfries came from parents which were imported from Hungary. The fishtock is supplied with water of lake Pamvotis of Ioannina. The application of the anthelmintic Devermin (Niclosamide) had an effectivity close to 100 %.
