Inglés. Silver fir (Abies alba Mill.), once copious all over the Appennines, at present is confined on a little number of mountains. The Author makes evident the historical events of some forests of the Gran Sasso mountain where silver fir lived and still lives today. On the issue of this historical study, the Author turns out some considerations about probable causes of contraction of its areal, with expansion, on the contrary, of other species, for example Fagus sylvatica. Besides on the issue of some forestation carried out in the first years of this century with silver fir, the Author makes evident the excellent result of these species. At last, the Author hopes that these species will be used in Appenninican silviculture in the future, much more.
Mostrar más [+] Menos [-]ITALIANO: L'abete, un tempo diffuso su tutta la catena appenninica, attualmente si trova relegato in alcune ristrettissime aree di vegetazione. L'Autore, evidenziate le vicende storiche di alcuni boschi del massiccio montuoso del Gran Sasso, ove era ed e' ancora presente l'abete, estrapola alcune considerazioni sulle probabili cause che hanno portato nel corso dei secoli la specie esaminata ad una progressiva, inesorabile, contrazione del proprio areale a favore di altre specie, come ad esempio il faggio. Inoltre, sulla base di alcuni interventi di coniferamento e rimboschimento effettuati nei primi anni del secolo con abete, sono posti in risalto gli ottimi risultati avuti con l'impiego di tale specie. A conclusione del lavoro, l'Autore si augura che venga attribuito maggior valore all'abete nella selvicoltura appenninica.
