Vigour of mango veneer grafts in relation to defoliation period and storage of scion shoots. Note.

The scion shoots grafted 10 days after defoliation had the longest elongation (17.63 cm) of the sprouts at the end of six months. The highest increase in length (16.19 cm) of the sprouts of stored lot was achieved by the scion shoots stored for 3 days which was followed by the scion shoots grafted after 5 days of storing. The least increase in length in this lot was noted in the scion shoots grafted 10 days after storing. The growth after sprouting of scion shoots was fast up to 3 months and then it slowed down during the next two months. The growth of the sprouts was seen in accordance with the rise in temperature and increase in humidity.
