The article deals with the comparison of four groups of growing regulators which are formed in plants or are synthesized. Their crucial role in the regulation of different life processes is emphasized. The application of various preparations - mainly growing inhibitors and retardants in apple-trees is analysed in detail. The processes of chemical thinning of fruit buds and formation of tree crowns are delineated.
