The study was carried out in the orchard planted in 1977 with apple cultivars Antonovka Obyknovennaya, Pobeditel', Belorusskoe Malinovoe on A2 rootstock. The interrow spacing was 5 m, the distance between the trees in a row - 3, 4 and 5 m. The trees were formed with a flattened crown stretched along the row. The tree height after pruning was 2 and 3 m. The yield decreased when the distance between the trees in a row diminished. The cultivars Antonovka Obyknovennaya and Pobeditel' were better croppers with the distance of 3 m between the trees. In Belorusskoe Malinovoe, the reduction in yield per a tree was very high and could not be compensated with the number of plants per hectare. More apple fruits were obtained with the distance of 5 m between the trees in a row annually and as a total for years of fruiting.
