Comparacion de fertilizantes potasicos en naranjo cv. Valencia.
1992
Saini del Otero Patricio Eduardo
The objective of this study was to compare the effects of different potassium fertilizers on fruit growth, yield and quality of a "Valencia" orange grove. The fertilizers used were: potassium chloride, potassium nitrate, potassium sulfate, and potassium and magnesium double sulfate plus a control treatment. The experimental design consisted of randomized complete blocks with six 1-tree replications. The results indicated that the response of trees to potassium application was low, since no significant increase of vegetative growth, yield, and quality of fruit was observed in the first season; nor there was an increased foliar content of potassium. The foliar level of other elements did not change significantly either, excepting chlorine whose content increased in the trees treated with potassium chloride. All the potassium fertilizers resulted in an increased acidity of fruit juice. Potassium-treated trees showed a tendency to a greater fruit size than the control trees.
