Influence of biopreparations Bio-algeen G-40 and Homogen on losses of organic matter and nitrogen from cattle slurry during storage were observed. Flow (rheological) characteristics of slurry was stated, too. The slurry was stored in the plastic tank. From every treatment (non-treated slurry, treated with Bio-algeen G-40 and Homogen) 3 samples (50 litres) were prepared. Immediatly after the start-up of the trial, after 60 and 120 days, the contents of dry and organic matter and nitrogen were determined. The flow characteristic of slurry was also observed. In the 1st phase of storage (60th day) in treated slurry, there was a lower loss of organic matter in dry matter (Bio-algeen 4.54 %, Homogen 5.37 %) and nitrogen (0.41 % and 1.04 %) than in non-treated slurry (7.2 % organic matter and 2.16 % nitrogen). Later (120 days) the differences between treated and untreated slurry were equalized. The treatment of slurry with biopreparations in comparison with non-treated one had no influence on flow characteristics of slurry. The contents of dry matter in slurry had a greater influence on the contents of organic matter, nitrogen and flow characteristics than the treatment with biopreparations. When the content of dry matter was higher, the contents of organic matter and nitrogen were higher too, and flow characteristics was worse.
