In a period of 27 months starting September 1982 and up to March 1985 various physicochemical parameters of the Lake Zazari have been monitored at two sampling sites. The water temperature was in the range of 0 deg C to 23.7 deg C, dissolved oxygen content from 0 to 170% of saturation, pH from 7.52 - 0.38 to 8.56 - 0.29 conductivity from 0.135 to 0.217 mS/cm, transparency from 0.35 to 0.92 meters, chlorophyll from 11.3 to 45.5 mg/m d(exp 3), chlorides 3-5 ppm, sulfates (SO4-S) 2-4 ppm, BOD 4.0 to 7.6 ppm, nitrate-nitrogen 20 to 400 ppm, total phosphorus 90 mg/L during the winter months to 450 mg/L the summer months. The Lake is the receiver of a torrent which had annual mean value 211 -48 mg/L of total phosphates. This torrent is the receiver of the sewage of the community Sklithro. According to the data reported herein Zazari Lake is a hypertrophic lake.
