Seven kinds of container were used for storing wheat seed cv. Inia 66 under ambient condition at Kae Noi Station, Khun Pae Station and Faculty of Agriculture. Samples were taken monthly for standard germination test, field emergence test and moisture determination for the period of 6 months. Wheat seed stored in tin can, jar, polyethylene bag (2 layers) and polypropylene bag (2 layers) gave no significant difference in their viability. They maintained their percentage of germination over 90 % for 6 months; but by using the wovenpolypropylene bag it was only 77.0-86.0 % after 6 months. However, wheat seed stored in tin can could retain highest both standard germination and field emergence percentages and in the same time with the lowest level of moisture content throughout storage period compared with the other containers in all locations.
