The effects of organic matter on the characteristics of soil during plant growth was closely related to the nutrient absorption efficiency, plant growth, and yield. This could support fertilizer efficiency of corn in acid soil. A study on interaction between sources of organic matter rice straw, babanjaran, alang-alang and green manure at a rate of 5 t/ha 3 dosages of lime (0, 1, and 2 t/h) have been done at Cigudeg during DS 1990, and using a split-plot design with 3 replications. The rates of lime applications were the main plots, while the sources of organic matter were the sub plots, corn variety Kalingga was grown at a 15 cm x 25 cm plant spacing. Result of the experiment indicated that changes in soil pH during the growing period were dependent on the source of organic matter and lime dosages. In general, soil pH decreased up to DAP, except the green manure treatment which showed a more stable pH. The total N in the soil decreased, while the K content increased at the treatment of organic matter. The absorption of N, P and K was significantly influenced by lime dosages, and also green manure per ha showed the best result to increase corn yield.
