Biochemical characteristics and nutritive value of pres liquor from brewery spent grains from Apatin brewery (Yugoslavia) as well as the possibility for its recovery into animal feed were investigated. Press liquor from brewery spent grains contains 7.9% dry matter with the following composition: crude protein 40.4%, crude fat 9.7%, sugars 18.3%. Significant amount of nutritive matters is lost through press liquor: dry matter 13.5%, crude protein 19.5%, crude fat 17.5%, sugars 39.8%. By centrifugal separation of liquor, the protein sludge with 25.6% dry matter was obtained, while the supernant liquor contained 2.1% dry matter contains 49.5% crude protein and 11.4% crudfe fat and supernatant liquoe dry matter contains 78% sugars. Press liquor from brewery spent grains, taken from regular production was condensed by evaporation and the spray-dried. Powder obtained and supplemented with 28 g lysine/kg crude protein showed high nutritive value is comparative experiments of broiler feeding.
