Non-genetic factors affecting daily milk yield in Murrah buffaloes. Short communication.

Singh C.V. | Yadav M.C.
The present investigation was undertaken to find out the effect of various non-genetic factors on daily milk yield for first, first 2 and first 3 (life time production) lactations in Murrah buffaloes. The estimates of genetic correlation with first, first 2 and first 3 lactation yields showed positive and high genetic correlation. This suggested that the daily milk yield increased as lactation yield increased. It indicated that milk yield per day for first, first 2 and first 3 lactations can be used as an index trait in selection programmes.
